RailRobin is in a private pilot. We are finalising these terms with our legal advisers before the public launch; we will tell you in the app before any material change. Items highlighted like this are still being confirmed.
What coins are
- Coins are loyalty points you earn by riding (a verified check-in), playing games, reporting crowds, referrals and promotions.
- They have no cash value. They are not money, a deposit, a wallet balance or a payment instrument, and are never sold for money.
- They cannot be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for cash, except where an in-app feature (such as gifting a voucher to a group member) expressly allows it.
- XP is different: it's for fun and leaderboards and never changes your coins.
How you earn coins
Games pay coins only while Metro Mode is on, inside the 90-minute window after a verified check-in. Games at other times are practice and earn XP.

Answers given in under 0.8 seconds score nothing. The current rates are always shown in the app under Help, rules & reward terms.
Limits
- Daily cap: games pay at most 300 coins a day (India time). After that, games earn XP until the next day. Bonuses (welcome, birthday, referrals, word of the day, crowd reports) don't count towards this cap.
- Rides: up to 6 rides a day are counted, and a new check-in needs 10 minutes after the last one.
- Offline games are saved on your phone and counted once when you reconnect, as long as they were played inside the ride's window and sent within 6 hours. Nothing is counted twice.
- Crowd reports: up to 30 a day; a second report at the same station within 10 minutes replaces the first and earns nothing.
- We may change rates and caps going forward, and will show the current rules in the app.
Verified check-ins
A ride is credited only when the check-in passes our checks:
- a GPS fix near the station (within about 250 m);
- the genuine app on a genuine device; and
- a single-use token.
A ride that looks impossible (faster than 80 km/h on average, back at the same station in under 20 minutes, or ending in another city) earns nothing.
Rewards and vouchers
- Rewards are offered by participating partner outlets at or near stations. Each shows its coin cost, outlets and conditions. Some can be redeemed only a few times a month, or while stock lasts. Sponsored rewards are labelled.
- Redeeming needs an internet connection. You get a voucher code starting with RR- to show at the partner's counter; tap Mark as used once it's used.
- Vouchers are valid for 30 days after redeeming. An unused voucher expires and its coins go back to your balance automatically.
- Partners, not RailRobin, supply the goods or services and are responsible for them. Partners see the voucher, not your phone number.
- Rewards are subject to availability. We may withdraw a reward from sale; vouchers you've already redeemed stay valid until they expire.
Lucky draw and secret gift swaps
- You can enter the monthly lucky draw from Rewards. Each entry costs 100 coins, with up to 5 entries a month. No payment of money is ever needed to enter.
- Each draw has its own rules (eligibility, dates, prizes, how winners are chosen at random and told), shown before you enter.
- Secret gift swaps in groups follow the rules shown in the group.
- Prizes may be subject to tax as required by law. [Prize and tax treatment being confirmed]
Fair play
To keep rewards fair for everyone, you must not:
- spoof your location, or use emulators, modified apps, scripts or automation;
- create or use more than one account, share accounts, or use one phone for several accounts;
- submit false crowd reports, or collude to farm coins or referrals;
- exploit bugs. If you find one, please tell us and we'll thank you.
We may reverse coins, cancel vouchers or draw entries, and suspend accounts that came from fraud, abuse, technical errors or breaches of these terms. Where practical, we will tell you why, and you can ask us to review the decision through support.
Changes and the end of the programme
- We may change or end the coin programme. Before ending it we will give at least [30] days' notice in the app, with a chance to spend your coins. Coins have no value once the programme ends.
- Coins in an account with no sign-in for [24] months may expire after notice to you.
- If you delete your account, your coin balance and any unused vouchers are cancelled.
